E-Learning is not an easier method for learning than traditional in-the-classroom courses. e-Learning students need to be self-motivated, independent learners. Find out if e-Learning is right for you with this online quiz.
How to Begin
- If you are not a current MCC student, Apply to MCC, take placement tests, complete Orientation, and get your MCC ID card.
- Sign-up for a Preparedness Session. There is no charge. This must be completed before taking an WWW, CMM, or IMM courses.
- Select the course or courses you are interested in taking.
- Register through Counseling or Advising. Current MCC students may register through WebAdvisor or in-person. Be sure to print a copy of your schedule.
- Sign-up online for a Start-up session for each e-Learning course you plan to take.
- Attend your Start-up session(s). This is the first class for your course. It is where you will receive your syllabus and other information regarding this course. This information is not available at the e-Learning office until all start-up sessions are complete.
- Purchase or order.your textbooks
- Start your course(s).
Computer Hardware/Software Requirements
These are the minimum computer hardware/software requirements for an online course.
Hardware:
Pentium 166 Mhz, but Pentium II 333 Mhz is recommended
64 MB of RAM or more
56 baud modem or better
Software:
Windows 98 or better
Software to complete the course (for example: MS Word for BUSN-190-WWW01. MCC does not for provide software.)
