Video tape or DVD based Instruction - DLT
These courses are delivered by videotaped programs; many are produced by our own MCC Professors.
You follow the syllabus from the instructor and watch videotapes, read the textbook, do homework assignments and come to campus to take test.
Computer Multi-Media -CMM
Computer Multi-Media means that you will use media (videos, CD ROMs, DVDs, etc.), your computer, Internet, syllabus and textbook to complete your course
Interactive Multi-Media - IMM
Interactive Multi-Media is an on-line course that uses “Blackboard”, media (videos, CD ROMs, DVDs, etc.), syllabus and textbook to complete your course
Multi-Media Instruction - MMD
You will be expected to use a mix of technology (videos, email, Internet, Telnet, CDs, audio etc.) during the semester. The schedule booklet and syllabus indicate the technology requirements.
Print Based Instruction - PRT
Most of these courses are strictly print based with all information given in print format. If your course states print/computer, your syllabus will give you specific instruction on how to download files from the Internet that you will need to complete assignments.
On-line Instruction - WWW
We recommend that you already feel comfortable using the Internet before taking classes on-line. It may be overwhelming to learn to use the Internet and take a college course at the same time.
The college's on-line courses are located at http://blackboard.mcc.edu. To access your course, you must be using a computer that is connected to the Internet, preferably using the Internet Explorer browser. The course information is entered in a BlackBoard web site by the individual instructor and is available throughout the semester. |
